Transformative Sound Healing Experience in Bali – A Personal Journey

At Bodhi Leaf Wellness, we are honored to witness the profound healing journeys of those who visit us. Each session is a deeply personal experience, and we love hearing how sound healing helps align, release, and restore balance. Recently, Ratri shared her experience with us after booking a sound healing session with Putu, our founder and practitioner. Her words beautifully capture the essence of what we strive to offer. Here’s what she wrote….

My First Sound Healing Experience:

A few weeks ago, I booked a sound healing session at Bodhi Leaf, hoping to realign my energy and release the heaviness I had been carrying. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the experience turned out to be deeply moving—one that I will cherish and likely make a yearly ritual.

As I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Putu, the owner and sound healing practitioner. Before stepping into the healing space, she splashed “air suci” (sacred water) on me—a traditional Balinese blessing. She invited me to set my intention and pray in my own way before we began. She also took a moment to pray for the session, which made me feel held and safe.

I lay down in a comfortable position, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. This was my first time experiencing sound healing, but I came in with a clear intention—to release whatever had been weighing me down for weeks, maybe even months.

As the session began, I focused on relaxing and immersing myself in the sounds. At first, it was calming, but then, as the vibrations reached my legs, I felt something intense. A sensation gripped my wrists—not in a forceful way, but as if something was gently telling me:
“Don’t resist. Just feel. Be still and surrender.”

The moment was profound. I wasn’t sure what was happening, but I knew I had to trust the process.

When Putu moved the sound healing towards my chest, a sharp, tight pain emerged—almost unbearable. I focused on my breathing, trying to calm with discomfort. But as she transitioned to my throat chakra, something shifted. I had an overwhelming urge to release something—an image came to my mind of dark energy rising up from my throat. My eyes welled up with tears without me realizing it.

It was as if my body knew exactly what it needed to let go.

As the session came to an end, I stayed in the moment, just being. I felt light-headed, almost like the floating sensation I get after a deep meditation. But beyond that, I felt like I had been guided toward understanding what I needed to heal.

Healing is not a one-time event—it’s a journey.

This session didn’t give me instant answers, but it did leave me with important questions—things I need to work through, emotions I need to process. And that, in itself, was a gift.

What struck me most was that this session wasn’t performative. It wasn’t about creating a mystical or aesthetic experience—it was about genuine healing. And for that, I am deeply grateful.

To Mbok Tu and the Bodhi Leaf Wellness team—thank you. This experience was profound, and I already know I’ll be returning next year.

Thank you, Ratri, for allowing us to be part of your healing journey. We are honored to offer this sacred practice and look forward to holding space for more transformative experiences.
